Avoid overloading turquoise with more colours

A fitted long turquoise dress with short sleeves needs little additional colour. Silver-coloured shoes provide a pale finish, while a dark bag keeps the remaining combination quiet. Begin with those two functions: one smaller shining detail and one practical companion. Another bright bag or contrasting belt is useful only when you deliberately want a more conspicuous direction rather than a clear focus on the dress.

Test the slit while walking and sitting

A slit changes movement and the area that becomes visible. Walk a few steps and sit on a chair similar to the one you expect at the event. The important point is not merely the height while standing but how the skirt falls afterwards. If you want to hold it constantly, a lower slit or another fit may make the evening feel more relaxed.

Choose shoes for the journey and event

Try the dress length with the pair you intend to wear. Silver heels are one option rather than a requirement. Lower shoes can provide the same pale effect when you will stand for a long time or walk farther. If you plan to change shoes during the evening, test both heights against the hem so the dress does not suddenly begin dragging on the ground.

Select the bag for its contents

A small dark bag coordinates easily but still needs to hold your essentials. Check the phone, keys and other personal items beforehand instead of improvising as you leave. A plain jacket or coat may be needed outside; make sure the short sleeves sit comfortably beneath it. Jewellery can stay small when the colour, slit and silver-coloured shoes already create the result you want.
